Two age groups, two courses

Texas drivers ed has two tracks. Teens aged 14 to 17 take a 32-hour classroom course plus 44 hours of behind-the-wheel time, both TDLR-required minimums. Adults aged 18 to 24 take a 6-hour online course. Drivers 25 and older are not required by Texas to take drivers ed1.

Aceable's Texas course carries TDLR approval #C2839. The classroom portion is completed online; behind-the-wheel hours are completed separately with a licensed instructor or an eligible parent.
